Description
Ford is nog steeds actief in het WRC als officiële fabrikant, maar schreef al geschiedenis met de Ford Escort RS1800. Dit model met een Cosworth-motor van 270 pk leverde de fabrikant uit Detroit in 1979 zijn eerste fabrikantentitel op. Twee jaar later won Ari Vatanen het coureurskampioenschap met de Escort RS1800.
