Shu ha establecido el gobierno de Liu Chan, y Wu mantiene sus fuerzas a duras penas. Ambas naciones han perdido a sus mejores oficiales. Mientras tanto, Wei está en pleno colapso. Una probable victoria aguarda a quien primero logre reunir a sus fuerzas.

En Shu no está Zhuge Liang. El gobierno de Wu está sumido en el caos. No queda ninguna fuerza capaz de oponerse a Wei. Sin embargo, el guardián del joven emperador, Cao Shuang, también acaba de tomar el poder, sembrando la confusión en Wei. Presintiendo el peligro, Sima Yi alega estar enfermo y se retira a su hogar a esperar su oportunidad. Una oportunidad de cambiar las cosas que se acerca rápidamente.
