Trasfondo:
Liu Bei, en busca de venganza por Guan Yu, avanza hacia la provincia de Jing, pero sufre una aplastante derrota frente a Lu Xun, de las fuerzas de Sun Quan en Yiling y fallece, dejando el futuro en manos de Zhuge Liang. Mientras apoya a Liu Shan, Zhuge Liang se alía de nuevo con Wu y se prepara para enfrentarse a Wei. En ese momento llegan nuevas de una rebelión en Nanzhong.
