What is MCC and how does it affect your money?
MCC (Merchant Category Code) is a four-digit number assigned to a merchant that classifies the type of services it provides. Every time you pay with a credit card, the transaction contains the MCC of the merchant, so your bank knows in which category (restaurants, barbershops, etc.) your money was spent.
