Caltrain zet voor een reeks speciale taken een tweetal veelzijdige EMD MP15DC-locomotieven in die oorspronkelijk de Southern Pacific bedienden.
De MP15DC is een multifunctionele locomotief geconstrueerd in de traditionele “eindcabine”-vorm van dieselrangeerlocs, maar voorzien van draaistellen geschikt voor hoofdspoordienst. De MP15DC, gebouwd door Electro-Motive (EMD) van 1974 t/m 1980, is een vierassige (B-B) locomotief met 1500 pk (1119 kW), wordt aangedreven door een EMD 12-cilinder motor uit de 645-serie en maakt gebruik van een gelijkstroomgenerator. Er zijn in totaal 351 MP15's gebouwd.
De TSW MP15DC, met de kleurrijke kleurstelling van Caltrain, is een prachtige herschepping van de kenmerkende loc en je hebt de kans om de Caltrain MP15DC een verscheidenheid aan authentieke taken te laten uitvoeren!
